Hey everyone. I think it's time to sum everything up! So the goal has been achieved; Around January 2012 Chris and I started knocking about in the garage and now 5 months later we managed to record an EP and perform to a packed little venue. Now I think that might be it, let's say Jogging Tours is on an indefinite hiatus.
I'm hoping to get a couple of local reviews and I'm sending a few cds off here and there but I'm going to be away from England for a while. We'll see, hoping to get a little local airplay and I'll be trying to document any happenings here.
The EP is called Cannon in tribute to my grandfather Gerard Harrison who sadly died last month. He was a pretty fantastic person with a pretty fantastic obsession with cannons and guns.
If you wanna listen/download the EP you can visit our bandcamp page.
As for the gig; thanks to those who came, especially the ones that drove long distances for it or took trains after work, means a lot. Thanks also to those of you that lent us things or helped us out in a variety of ways.

James Severy started the night off with a few of his own tunes, he's a rather talented chap and I got to know him through Joe Bailey of GoGoColin fame. James played a great set and had the audience glued and entertained with his amusing lyrics and twisty song structures.
Next up were Mouse Tribes, my friend Dave Collins in the main man for them, we almost had a band before that but it never really worked due to illness and holidays, I think it worked out for the best though because he is a songwriting machine and has done well to team up with Sam, I'm going to preorder their future EP for sure. Their music is exciting, honest and fun and their set was a nice mixture of sweet and dark which is just what I like!

We played the 4 tracks from our EP, plus 'Unspoken' which is one I would have liked to include if we all had more time and money.  In the middle there we did a shortened cover of Mclusky's 'She WIll Only Bring You Happiness' which is an old fave of mine. Thanks to all who cheered and wooped in all the right places, for a first and possibly last gig I'm happy with how it went, there was even a bit of dancing.

Well done to Robert for manufacturing 9 and a half great tshirts, how about that for limited edition?? And they are all gone. He has some interesting and fun artwork you should check out, I like his style and the cut of his jib.

And that's how for now.

Hello.
We spent an evening back at the best place to rehearse around here and this time Mr. Boris joined on the 4 string. It's getting exciting for sure and we're close to forming some decent little tunes.  In 2 weeks time we should have a real live recording. In the meantime there's a taster of how things are developing.
Some lovely riffage and grooves.
If you like games, play them here.

Hello.
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement we've had thus far.
Things have been moving on nicely but there's no denying that we need some vocals.
This is being addressed. Updates soon.
Meanwhile J-Tours brings you a few new little sketchy recordings, the 2nd garage session and this one was damn cold.
'Not A Whisper' is an old Bed song I used to play with Joel Stanier and the original harmony swamped, reverby beauty can be found here.
I'm aware that we havn't had much to offer you visually so I've included a visual interpretation of me as a girl, drawn by Dan.
I'm currently addicted to:
Cloud Control
Release the Sunbird
Born Ruffians
Slow Club
Nick Drake

So we're working on another new track 'Twice Twice' and firmly came to the realisation that we're not simply dance and groove motivated. But we're making music we like. This new track is my indie self rearing it's comfortable head, Parts of it remind me of Pinback which is great. The drumming on this is interesting and I'm on bass which is a change, my fingers aren't used to it but I'm inspired to write a nice guitar line over the verses to stay in keeping with the pinbackiness. I love how their arrangements work.
Hope you enjoy the frantic pAper chAse type spazzy rock section. The rest of the track just reminds me of summer frolics.
Vocals will write themselves for this one.
Thanks to Joe and Gav at Punch for allowing us use a rehearsal space for some of the afternoon. Their rather impressive sounding band Broken Shapes are playing Collywood soon.
Remember that "Everything changes things".

Hey so I'll fill you in, it took Chris  and myself 27 years to kinda ever make a recording. That's a bit of a lie as we've definitely recorded funny little bits and pieces over the years. When we were about 7 we'd record radio shows on an old yellow cassete player, mostly a mixture of insane laughter and silly stories interspersed with queen tracks.
We've pretty much always loved the same bands, sometime I'll put a page up on here with links to some of the most inspirational.
I'm going away next year but we want to play shows before then. After some discussion we've decided:
KEEP IT SIMPLE
IT NEEDS TO MAKE GIRLS WANNA DANCE

We can achieve this much, Easy.

So thanks so much to Mr. Clough for loaning me gear including this badboy Tascam 4-track #oldschool or what? It's a hiss factory but it works well when you get used to it.
So yeah. 3 rough live demos.
We want to keep you in the loop with devolopments.
Download our demo's, stick em on yer ipod and we'll have some more soon.
The track entitled 'Unspoken' I have pretty much complete (although not on this versionn) - I have vocals/harmonies/guitar solos.
Talk of gigs but too early to say. Rehearsing on sunday muthafunkers!
Dom.
